Solutions
Introduction to Projects
This article introduces the concept or solutions and explains their role in Timebook's ecosystem.
Solutions bridge the gap between opportunities and work delegation by providing product managers with evidence which facilitates decision making.
In Timebook, solutions are the result of the product discovery process:
first, you collect insights from customer data
then you create opportunities from selected insights, i.e. potential areas of development
once you decide which opportunity to pursue, you can generate a solution: ideas and suggestions which can be broken down into actual work
Creating solutions
Solutions can be created in two ways: manually or directly from the opportunity using Timebook's AI.
Creating manually
Solutions are a component of the Delivery module which is not available in the low-tier plans. If you don't see the Solutions tab in the navigator, please contact your workplace owner to adjust the plan.
To create a solution manually:
click the global
+button from the sidebar navigatoror use the add button from the Solutions view.

Generating from opportunity
Once you indicate which opportunity you want to pursue, you can start preparing grounds for development by escalating it into a project.
Go to Planning → Opportunities and look up the opportunity on the list.

Click the 'Generate' button at the top, select 'Project', and enter the details: name, description, date range for which the project is planned, team responsible, and the parent product.

Projects overview
The Projects tab lets you browse and manage all projects in your team. The default timeline view provides you with essential progress information, such as current status and the number of work items, together with a calendar with marked time frames.
You can change the layout and apply grouping and filtering in the 'Manage view tab'.
Here's how the timeline view looks like when fully populated.

The list view, on the other hand, provides more details, such as linked opportunities and initiatives:

There is also the board view if you're used to working with Kanban boards.
