# Focus Time & Out of Office

> **In short:**\
> Focus Time allows you to reserve blocks of uninterrupted time for deep work, helping minimize distractions and manage your availability. Out of Office lets you mark periods when you’re unavailable, ensuring others know not to schedule events or assign tasks during that time. Together, these event types keep your schedule organized and your priorities clear.

## Taking charge of your schedule

The [Agenda module](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/calendar-and-scheduling/agenda-module) includes event types designed to help you better manage your time and communicate availability to other members of your Timebook Workplace. Two key event types—**Focus Time** and **Out of Office**—offer unique ways to organize your schedule effectively:

* **Focus Time** ensures you have uninterrupted blocks for deep work or specific tasks, helping you stay productive.
* **Out of Office** marks you as unavailable, so others know not to assign work or schedule other events during those periods.

Using these event types strategically ensures you have both the focus and the downtime you need to work efficiently while avoiding scheduling conflicts.

## Focus Time in Timebook

Focus Time refers to dedicated time blocks that you reserve for uninterrupted work. These periods are designed to minimize distractions and potentially mark you as unavailable to others.

Focus Time is managed in the [Agenda module](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/calendar-and-scheduling/agenda-module), where you can create it directly on the grid. This approach simplifies scheduling by allowing you to see and select the exact time slot for your Focus Time as you create it.

To create a Focus Time on the calendar grid:

{% embed url="<https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cZX3jGnVzKp>" %}
You can create Focus Time directly on the grid in the Agenda module.
{% endembed %}

{% hint style="info" %}
You can also initiate Focus Time creation using one of these methods:

* Click the \[**Fast create**] button in the Navigator, select \[**Event**], and then \[**Focus Time**].
* Click the \[**+**] button above the calendar grid and select \[**Focus Time**].
  {% endhint %}

When creating a Focus Time, you can customize it with various options, such as setting a recurring pattern, choosing whether to appear free or busy during that time, and deciding whether to show or hide Focus Time slots when sharing your calendar with others. These properties work similarly to those used for regular Meetings.
