# Files

> **In short:**\
> The \[**Files**] module provides efficient file management for teams and individuals, enabling you to store, organize, and reuse documents, images, and attachments. Files can be manually uploaded or automatically added from team and personal resources.

## Files in Timebook

Timebook offers comprehensive file management features designed to efficiently store and organize your documents, images, and attachments. You can access the \[**Files**] module at both the[ Team](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents/broken-reference) level and for use in [My Work](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents/broken-reference). While they function similarly, each option is adjusted to different contexts—team collaboration or personal organization.

You can view all files uploaded by every Team across your entire Timebook [Workplace](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents/broken-reference). This consolidated view is accessible through the \[**Resources**] section in the Navigator.

### Team files

The \[**Files**] module at the [Team](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents/broken-reference) level allows you to store, manage, and organize files associated with your team’s activities. Use it to create a central hub for all files, improving collaboration and ensuring that important content can be shared and reused.

How resources are added to \[**Files**] at the **Team** level:

1. **Manual uploads**: You can manually upload files directly into the module. This allows team members to add important documents, images, or other relevant files as needed.\

2. **Attachments from Team Documents:** Images and attachments from [Documents](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents) created within the Team are automatically added to the \[**Files**] module. This feature helps keep everything related to your team’s documentation centralized and easy to find.
3. **Attachments from Team objects**: Any images or attachments added to Timebook objects (like [Work Items](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/core-concepts-and-objects/delivery-objects/work-item) or [Goals](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/strategy-objects/goal)) assigned to the Team are also automatically included in the \[**Files**] module. This ensures that all files associated with daily are available in one location.

The \[**Files**] module serves as a repository where you and your team members can efficiently manage, locate, and share all relevant documents.

### Personal files

The \[**Files**] module in [My Work](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents/broken-reference) functions in a similar way but focuses on individual content rather than team-based resources. The module becomes your private storage space for managing files that are not necessarily tied to any team activity but are important for your personal organization and planning.

How resources are added to \[**Files**] at the **personal** level:

1. **Manual uploads**: You can manually upload files directly into the module. This is ideal for keeping track of personal notes, documents, or resources you want to access independently.\

2. **Attachments from Personal Documents**: Any attachments or images added to personal [Documents](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/documents) (those not created under any Team) are automatically stored here. This ensures that all your individual resources are centralized for easy access.
3. **Attachments from personal objects**: Images or attachments linked to objects assigned to your \[**My Work**] module (not related to any Team) are also automatically included here.

By keeping personal files organized separately, Timebook provides you with the flexibility to manage both team-related and individual resources effectively.

{% hint style="info" %}
When in the \[**Files**] module, you can use the sorting and filtering options available under the \[**Manage view**] button. You can also create custom views of files there.
