# Product context

## About product

In the last decade, there's been a visible shift from "shipping the roadmap" approach towards building a habit of testing assumptions against real customer evidence before committing engineering time. A product isn't just the software artifact anymore – it's the vehicle for solving a validated customer problem in service of a business outcome.

## Product context

Product context is a single source of truth for your product's core identity, mission, and operating model.

In technical terms, product context allows Timebook's AI tools to properly allocate your product on the market against the competitors yielding more accurate operation results.

The context holds a structured knowledge base describing:

* what the product is
* the problem it solves
* related objects
* operating model

## Setting product context

The context is created automatically during product space creation upon adding the URL to your website:

Once you do it, Timebook will fetch the corresponding data, suggest competitors, and create an entry in the **Product** **context** section of the Knowledge Base:
