> **In short:**\
> Partners are users from other Workplaces that you can invite to your Teams for extended collaboration. They gain access to the resources of a selected Team, while you define their permissions just like with regular members. Partner invitations must be approved by the Workplace Owner or Admin.

## Who are Partners?

In Timebook, collaboration primarily occurs within your Workplace[^1] by completing tasks, sharing resources, and working together on various projects. However, Timebook’s collaborative capabilities extend beyond your own Workplace; you can also collaborate with users from other Workplaces, known as **Partners**. By inviting Partners to join your Teams[^2], you enable cross-organization collaboration without the need to join multiple Workplaces.

This feature allows you to coordinate efforts across different organizations—all within a single Timebook environment. You can define access rights for Partners, ensuring they have appropriate permissions based on their roles and responsibilities within your Team. This helps maintain control over the information and resources that Partners can access, keeping your work secure and organized.

Key advantages of having Partners:

* They gain controlled access to the resources of the selected Team.
* You can assign work directly to them.
* You can share calendar details with them.

{% hint style="info" %}
Invited Partners must already be registered in another Timebook Workplace.

If the person you want to invite isn’t a Timebook user yet, simply invite them to your Workplace as a regular member.
{% endhint %}

### Adding a Partner to a Team

Timebook provides a dedicated module for Owners or Admins to invite Partners to their Team. For more information, see [People settings](/hc/product-guide/team-settings/people-settings.md)

To invite a Partner:

Use the dedicated module in **\[Team settings**] to invite a Partner and define their role.
{% endembed %}

> 1. In the Navigator, click the \[**Team settings**] icon next to a Team’s name.
> 2. Open the \[**People**] tab and click the \[**Add people**] button at the top.
> 3. Select the \[**Partner**] option to invite people from other Workplaces.
> 4. Provide the email address of the person you want to add as a Partner. After we confirm that the email address is registered with another Timebook Workplace, the person will be added to the list. Repeat the steps above to add as many people as needed.
> 5. Define permissions for each invited person within the Team. You can choose from \[**Can view**], \[**Can edit**], or \[**Can edit & invite**].
> 6. Click \[**Add**] to confirm and send invitations for approval to the Team’s Owner and Admins.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Each Partner invitation must be approved by the Workplace Owner or an Admin in the \[**Manage Partners**] tab of the \[**Workplace settings**].
