Recently, we expanded the Slack-Timebook integration to enable Timebook Tickets to capture links and attachments. We also improved item sorting by adding support for custom-made properties. Additionally, we boosted the # key functionality—it is now a tool for linking most Timebook objects in text fields.

New features

Here, you'll find detailed information about the latest additions to Timebook. Explore them, stay updated, and make the most of Timebook.

Potential game-changers

Enhancements for Inbox Tickets

Tickets can now capture attachments from a Slack message and a link to that message.

Why does it matter? This feature further automates the process of capturing feedback from external sources. If you integrate your Team's Inbox with a dedicated Slack channel, all attachments added to messages will be automatically captured in Timebook Tickets. You can find the captured attachments - and a link to the original Slack message - in the dedicated section of the Ticket drawer.

You can now sort Work Items using custom-made properties.

Why does it matter? Managing your Work Item views has just become easier as you can include the custom-made properties. To try this, go to the [Manage view] section of your Work Items and sort them by one of the custom properties. When using the [Table] layout, you can also try the [Fields] section to show or hide custom properties on item cards.

When editing text fields, you can now use the # key to enable Timebook search and create links to your search results.

Why does it matter? You can now browse your entire Timebook Workplace to find specific objects and present them as links on a page or in a description field. This gives you a powerful tool to quickly create cross-references and improve navigation between different objects.

We redesigned linking items to their parents for better usability.

Why does it matter? We replaced the old, cumbersome pop-up with an easier-to-use search bar. More importantly, you can now choose a parent item from a different Team than the child item, greatly enhancing collaboration between Teams.

Since these two container types had similar features, we decided to keep only one for simplicity and a better user experience.

Why does it matter? You can now manage your work with less confusion, as there is only one container to group your Work Items. This change is also reflected in the "bulk edit" option, allowing you to move several items to a new Project with the click of a button.

The OST drawer received a dedicated section that shows the Goals and key results linked to that OST.

Why does it matter? This feature is identical to the one we added to the Project drawer recently. Thanks to the new section, you can now quickly link your Opportunity-Solution Tree to existing Team or Workplace Goals (and their key results).

All the notifications about Timebook events (and changes to them) can now also be sent to Slack.

Why does it matter? When someone edits the details of an event you've accepted, you'll receive a notification in Slack if you are using the Timebook companion app. This way, you'll be notified about changes in both Slack and Timebook.

The [Updates] tab in Teams now shows the total number of updates.

Why does it matter? This is the first step in our attempt to make the [Updates] more informative, as we added an icon that shows the number of updates in the tab. In the future, we want this icon to show the number of new updates since your last visit.

We improved the styling and colors of several components across Timebook.

Why does it matter? We are now more consistent in our visual style, as we made several improvements for the page list in [Documents], the [Link] widget on pages, toast messages, the pricing plan highlight in the [Billing] section, and more.

This section lists the bugs we resolved in the latest release. These fixes should improve Timebook's performance and give you a more stable experience.

Bug
Fix description

Work Item mentions not triggering push notifications

When you mention someone in a Work Item, they will now receive a push notification without any issues.

Enter key not working properly in Work Item links

You can now paste a URL into the [Link] widget and confirm it by pressing the Enter key without using the [Save] button.

Missing link in Inbox settings for Slack

As a Workplace Admin editing Team settings, you can now use the link to jump directly to the Workplace Admin area and configure the Slack integration there.

Broken timeline when grouping in Project Roadmap

After applying a grouping option in a Project Roadmap, you will now see the correct visualization of items in the [Timeline] layout.

Search not working when linking items

You can now use the search functionality without any issues in the [Linked items] section of the item drawer.

Search not working correctly when adding a parent item

When adding a parent item, you no longer have to click out of the search bar to activate the search.

We want your experience to shape the future of Timebook, so we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.

You can send us your ideas or report issues using the dedicated feature in Timebook. Open the [Help and Support] section at the bottom of the Navigator and select [Feedback]. Fill out and submit the resulting form, and we'll take care of the rest.

Thank you for your time.
