This release, we developed a beta version of Figma plugin that is currently being tested in our environment. We also made a lot of effort to improve our Navigator through multiple visual and usability changes. You will also notice that OSTs now behave like containers to ensure they feel different from the regular Opportunities.
This is a summary of all the improvements in this release. Use the links below to jump to specific entries, or scroll down to read about all the changes.
Here, you'll find detailed information about the latest additions to Timebook. Explore them, stay updated, and make the most of Timebook.
The new Timebook plugin is getting closer to being available in Figma.
Why does it matter? The plugin allows you to link a Figma object to existing Timebook Work Items or create new ones specifically for linking. Edits made in Figma or Timebook are automatically synced, making this feature especially helpful to designers who can now manage their work with less effort.
We made several changes to improve the look and feel of the Navigator.
Why does it matter? The changes include redesigning the tiles at the top of the Navigator, moving the Personal module to the Teams section, and redesigning the icons for the Workplace-level modules and Teams. This will hopefully lead to easier identification of objects and a more intuitive navigation between them.
Opportunity-Solution trees (OSTs) now work like other containers.
Why does it matter? OSTs are now containers, so their behavior and appearance are more consistent with those of other container types, such as Projects. This change will help you notice the difference between regular Opportunities (objects) and more complex OSTs (containers).
You now have more flexibility when managing Figma objects using the Timebook plugin.
Why does it matter? If you press on one of the linked Timebook Work Items in our Figma plugin, the screen will be centered around the Figma object it is linked to. Similarly, pressing on a linked object will highlight the corresponding Work Item in the plugin window.
You can now link Projects to Opportunities in two ways.
Why does it matter? This will help you turn your ideation into actual project work. You can achieve that by using the dedicated [Projects] section in the Opportunity drawer. Alternatively, you can use the dedicated [Project] button next to an Opportunity when using the [Tree] layout.
We redesigned and simplified the Timebook-Slack integration process.
Why does it matter? This feature will minimize your effort when integrating Timebook and Slack. The process is now a few clicks shorter and more automatic, ensuring the integration feels smoother.
We added the option to link OSTs to key results in the Goal drawer.
Why does it matter? The key result section of a Goal now has an additional option that allows you to link a selected Opportunity-Solution tree (OST). And you can still use the same button to link Initiatives to your key result.
You can now undo the action of deleting a Timebook Document.
Why does it matter? You now have greater control and flexibility in managing your Documents. This feature should reduce the stress of accidental deletions, as you can press [Undo] on a toast message to restore a Document quickly.
This section lists the bugs we resolved in the latest release. These fixes should improve Timebook's performance and give you a more stable experience.
The [Solution] status missing when creating a Project
You can now create a Project and set it to the [Solution] stage immediately, as all statuses are available for selection.
The [To-do] refreshing randomly during event creation
Creating events doesn't affect the [To-do] drawer anymore, so you won't experience any unwanted refreshing of the drawer.
Wrong focus in linked items
When you create a new link, your cursor now automatically focuses on the input field, saving you one unnecessary click.
The [Comments] tab not refreshing properly
When you add an inline comment or remove a comment, the [Comments] tab now automatically refreshes to react to your changes.
Incorrect handling of embedded Google Slides
You can now create proper embeds that preview Google Slides content. The embeds work regardless of whether you copy the link or the actual embed code.
Views affected by adding files to a new Team
You can now drag and drop files in the [Files] tab of a Team, and it will no longer affect the visibility of the views or the [Manage view] button.
We want your experience to shape the future of Timebook, so we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.
You can send us your ideas or report issues using the dedicated feature in Timebook. Open the [Help and Support] section at the bottom of the Navigator and select [Feedback]. Fill out and submit the resulting form, and we'll take care of the rest.
Thank you for your time.
