## Managing time zone settings

The \[**Date & time**] section in the \[**Preferences**] module helps you define how Timebook should handle dates and times. You can also configure your time zone or set Timebook to detect time zones automatically.

To access this section:

1. Click the dropdown next to the name of your [Workplace](https://help.timebook.ai/hc/product-guide/getting-around-timebook/app-navigation/workplace-navigation) in the top-left corner.
2. From the menu, select \[**Preferences**].
3. Open the \[**Date & time**] section.

<table><thead><tr><th width="286">Option</th><th>How to use it</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Automatic time zone detection</strong></td><td><p>Use this toggle to control whether Timebook automatically detects your time zone based on your device settings.</p><p>When turned on, Timebook will match your device's time zone automatically. If turned off, you can manually set your time zone using the [<strong>Time zone</strong>] option below.</p></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Time zone</strong></td><td><p>If automatic detection is off, you can manually set your time zone here.</p><p>Simply open the dropdown and type the name of your current location. Matching results will appear, and you can select the preferred one.</p></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Notify me of time zone changes</strong></td><td><p>Use this toggle to control whether Timebook notifies you when your device detects a time zone change.</p><p>When turned on, you’ll get a notification in Timebook each time your device switches to a different time zone. When turned off, no notifications about time zone changes will be sent.</p></td></tr></tbody></table>
