In short: Products represent the real-world products your organization creates or supports. By adding products to your Workplace, you can map your portfolio into the app, centralizing information and resources. Timebook also lets you link Teams to Products, making it easy to manage responsibilities and highlight contributions. Each Product includes a dedicated Wiki for focused documentation, complementing the Workplace’s global Wiki.

What are Products?

Product objects in Timebook are in-app representations of the real-world products your organization creates, manages, or supports. By adding Products to your Timebook , you can map your company’s portfolio directly into the app. This allows you to centralize information, workflows, and resources related to each Product, making it easier to track progress and streamline collaboration.

When creating a Team in Timebook, you can choose [Product] as the Team type. This allows you to link the Team to a specific Product object, showing a clear connection between the Team’s work and the product it supports.

Managing Products in a dedicated module

In Timebook, you can manage all Product objects in their dedicated module. This gives you a quick overview of all existing Products and allows you to create new ones quickly. Any member of your Workplace can create a new Product object.

You can access Product-related data directly from the Navigator.

As a Product Manager, the [Products] module lets you document each product’s goals and updates in its Wiki, keeping your team and stakeholders aligned.

As an Engineering Team Lead, linking your team to a Product keeps documentation and priorities accessible. This ensures alignment with Product Managers and streamlines development efforts.

  2. Click [Add a Product] in the top-right corner of the module.

  4. In the [Contributors] section, assign team members from your Workplace. Only contributors will be able to edit the product’s details and its resources, such as wiki content.

  5. Click [Create] to confirm. Your Product’s card is added to the list. Open the card to view and manage the Product’s resources.

Product cards

Each product card is organized into tabs, making it easier to manage resources. Each tab is designed for a specific purpose:

Wiki

In the top-right corner of the card, you have two additional options to keep your Product accessible:

  • [Add to Bookmarks] saves the Product for future reference. You can find it by opening the [Bookmarks] module in the Navigator.

  • [Pin to Navigator] adds the Product to the [Pinned items] area of the Navigator. You can quickly jump to the pinned Product using the menu on the left, no matter where you are in Timebook.

We have a dedicated article on how to use pins and bookmarks to keep your important objects always within easy reach.
