In this release, we’ve given new users a guided start, with videos that highlight the time to value and can be tucked away anytime. We’ve also simplified statuses for Insights and Tickets, and they update automatically when you act on them. You’ll also notice faster loading in the Tree layout, a more intuitive transcript upload experience, and improved hierarchy syncing with Jira.
This is a summary of all the improvements in this release. Use the links below to jump to specific entries or scroll down to read about all the changes.
These are the latest additions to Timebook. Explore them to stay updated and make the most of Timebook.
First-time users are now greeted with a “Learn the basics” section, which includes a series of introductory videos. This section stays visible in the Navigator after you minimize it to a compact button.
Why does it matter? These quick videos help new users start exploring Timebook with confidence, without needing to read through documentation or wait for onboarding help. It’s all about reducing the time it takes to find value in the product—so you can begin organizing work and making progress right away.
The status options for Insight and Ticket items are now trimmed down to three: “To review”, “Accepted”, and “Rejected”. Also, when you generate a Work Item or Opportunity from one of these, the original item is automatically marked as “Accepted”.
Why does it matter? With fewer statuses, it’s easier to review incoming feedback and focus on what matters. And if you generate a Work Item or Opportunity from a Ticket or Insight, the original item is automatically marked as “Accepted”—because if it was worth acting on, it’s only logical to reflect that in its status.
The transcript upload area in Interviews now supports drag and drop. We’ve also updated the microcopy and added a tooltip linking to a Help Center article covering both manual and automatic transcript capture.
Why does it matter? Uploading a transcript is now quicker and more intuitive. The drag-and-drop support simplifies the process, and the new tooltip points you to clear guidance—so you know exactly how transcript capture works.
When syncing with Jira, Timebook now does a better job of preserving the parent-child relationships between items. While a few edge cases remain due to how Jira handles item types, the hierarchy is always maintained.
Why does it matter? Maintaining hierarchy means your structure stays intact, even across tools. That’s essential when you’re managing complex projects and don’t want to lose context between systems.
We’ve optimized data loading performance, with a noticeable improvement in the Tree layout view.
Why does it matter? If you’re working in the Tree layout, things now load faster—so you can explore, expand, and reorganize without delays.
This section lists the bugs we resolved in the latest release. These fixes should improve Timebook's performance and give you a more stable experience.
Need to refresh browser to see status changes
After updating statuses in Team settings, changes now apply immediately across your Team—no manual refresh needed.
Can’t enter custom text into the Location field
You can now select a suggested location or enter custom text freely when editing the Location field of calendar events.
Story not linked to Epic when created in Jira
We’ve fixed an issue in our Jira integration. When you create an Epic with a Story as its child in Jira, the hierarchy is now preserved correctly in Timebook.
View not updated after item status change
When using views that filter by status, items now appear or disappear as expected when their status changes.
Team setting options not visible on short resolutions
All key Team setting options are now pinned to the bottom of the screen, so they remain visible even on shorter resolutions.
We want your experience to shape the future of Timebook, so we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.
You can send us your ideas or report issues using the dedicated feature in Timebook. Open the [Help and Support] section at the bottom of the Navigator and select [Feedback]. Fill out and submit the resulting form, and we'll take care of the rest.
Thank you for your time.
